House Bill 1067

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Puerto Rico has expressed its opposition to House Bill 1067 (PC 1067), titled the “Parental Protection Against the Trafficking of Abortions for Minors Act.” The organization argues that the measure runs counter to the current legal framework and criminalizes assistance that third parties might provide to pregnant minors seeking access to abortion services—a medical procedure that is legal in Puerto Rico, including for individuals under the age of 18.
